Help with Meals

Dear Friends and family,

Thanks to everyone for praying for Melissa, her parents - Michael and Marlene and her siblings - Maurice, Melodie and Mildred. Your response to their request for prayer and desire to help in any way you can has been overwhelming and very welcoming! Thank you. Here's some updates and responses to some of the questions being asked.

- As far as contacting the Yus, feel free to send notes to their home (address listed below) or to my home at 21 Springflower, Irvine, CA 92614 or via email to me. It's difficult for Marlene to get to the computer and in fact, she hasn't seen her computer in 3 weeks. I offered to receive and make copies of every email for her and she loved the idea of having a personal secretary. Please know that I am happy to deliver all messages.

- Marlene has asked for prayer on her behalf as she will be talking with her supervisor about changing from a full-time status to part-time. She's almost taken all of her leave and while she desires to stay at Melissa's bedside 24-7 she knows she must return to work to maintain their family medical benefits -- especially now.

- Many have asked how they can assist the family. Meals are being provided 3x's a week thru EFU Church of Irvine, which is Marlene's church that she was baptized in during her youth. They only want meals on M, W & F so they don't have too much and as Marlene put it, "there are people all over our country that are starving and could use meals". They remain generous, kind and thinking of others even during this difficult time in their lives. Meals have been provided thru May 2; however, Elder Joe just released May's calendar. It's simple and easy to navigate (see below). It was just recently mentioned that Michael has been rushing home each morning to prepare sack lunches for the 4 children and this could be another resource that we could provide. Their neighbor and friend, Kathy Curtis, talked with Melodie today and got their "likes and dislikes" so she could start making lunches tomorrow morning (thank you) ... I'll get back to you once we've developed a plan or schedule for this need. Gift cards to local restaurants and fast food are also welcome for those "on the go" days and when meals aren't being provided.

- Their financial needs are great since Michael works for the Lord and serves as a Pastor and missionary (when not tending to his family needs) and Marlene has been on leave (without pay) from her full-time job. There are two ways you can contribute financially : 1) through Michael's ministry (AFF)or 2) make a check payable to Marlene Yu and mail to my home at 21 Springflower, Irvine 92614. Delivery Schedule for Yu's Dinners
Please carefully read the following guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation and may God bless you for your kind effort.
1. Yu's home address:19462 Sierra Mia Rd, Irvine, CA 92603 (Google Map is here).
2. Delivery should be made between 5-6pm, preferably earlier between 5-5:30pm.
3. If no one is home, just leave the food on the front door. (Please put it inside a supermarket brown bag, and just leave it on the ground.)
4. Both Chinese and American food are welcome.
5. Please prepare enough food for 4 people in one meal only.
6. For convenience, food container will not be returned.
7. Please leave your contact phone number or email address, and REMEMBER YOUR SIGN UP DATE.
8. If you need to reschedule or cancel your commitment, please contact at least 48 hours in advance Joe Hsu at 949-413-5189; 714-885-8013 or 949-262-9685. 9. We are scheduling one month at a time and will open June schedule for sign up shortly.

1. From the Scheduler web site (http://www.efciorg/EFCI-EM/Yu_scheduler.html), click on the ".. please click "here"".
2. On the Google Calendar page, Please log in as: Email: blessmyu Password: efci4myu You will be shown the current calendar.
3. Please find a date that is still available (i.e. any Mon, Wed, Fri without an entry yet). Click on the box of that day.
4. On the pop-up dialog box, please enter in the What field "5pm Your Name PhoneNo". For exmple, for Joe's entry, it would be "5pm Joe Hsu 949-413-5189" (If convenient, please enter your email address after the phone number so that we could contact you by email when necessary.)
5. Click on the "Create Event" button. You should see the new entry displayed on the calendar already.
6. Click on "Sign out" (right upper corner of the page).You could go back to the web site:http://www.efci.org/EFCI-EM/Yu_scheduler.htmlto see your new entry. On that page, if you click onthe "Agenda" tab, it will show all future entries.
