While we don't know each other personally, I wanted to let you know I've been praying for you. I attend Island ECC in Hong Kong and am part of the prayer team at our church.
I have experienced a myriad of emotions as I read updates on your progress. I will continue to pray that the Lord give the doctors wisdom and clarity as they try to find and heal the culprit that has kept you in the hospital this long.
But, I digress. The point of this email is to wish you a HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY!!!!! While I know the hospital isn't the coolest place to celebrate your birthday, praise God you are surrounded by family and loved ones.
To the Yu Family: May the Lord give you strength - spiritually, physically, and emotionally as you continue to stay by Melissa's side. Your faith has been an encouragement.

One of the things I admire about you is that you are gentle in your interaction and love for others and yet you are strong and intelligent and driven. Here's a birthday joke for you:
A man asked his wife, "What would you most like for your birthday?" She said, "I'd love to be ten again."
On the morning of her birthday, he got her up bright and early and off they went to a theme park. He put her on every ride in the park, the Death Slide, The Screaming Loop, the Wall of Fear. Everything there was, she had a go.
She staggered out of the theme park five hours later, her head reeling and her stomach upside down. Into McDonald's they went, where she was given a Double Big Mac with extra fries and a strawberry shake. Then off to a movie theater, more burgers, popcorn, cola and sweets. At last she staggered home with her husband and collapsed into bed.
Her husband leaned over and asked, "Well, dear, what was it like being ten again?"
One eye opened and she groaned, "Actually I meant dress size."
Haha! Anyway, we hope you're feeling a bit better. Our family and our churches here are all fighting with you and praying for you to recover soon, so take care and happy happy birthday!

This is Mrs. Thompson from Uni High. I only recently found out that Melissa was in the hospital and I am overwhelmed with the news. Melissa was in my Coordinated Science 1 class last year as a freshman. I also go to Mariner's Church and got the chance to see her and Melodie often at the check-in computer.
I wanted to send an email to let family, friends, and Melissa know that she is loved and that I am thinking of her constantly through my day and praying for her recovery continually. The Lord can do miraculous things!
